Legless Not Lifeless is a family that have been through many things in life and yet we still smile and we still live life to the full. It's not being easy but the things worth fighting for normally are the things you want the most.
So who are we then?
Matt
Hello my name is Matt and I have been a fulltime wheelchair user now for the last 10 plus years.
How did I end up in a wheelchair. I went to bed one night and woke up next morning and could not feel anything from the chest down. To cut a long story short I have had what they call a spinal stroke.
Even though I live in constant pain and struggle every day I still try and live each day to the full. I work fulltime and then try to fit everything else in to the rest of the day, sometimes I succeed and other days I fail.
Haley
Hello my name is Haley and I have been married to Matt now for over 20+ years. This has been an amazing life we have shared together. Matt is the extrovert and I am very much the introvert.
We are both looking forward to sharing our lives with you as we build Daisy our motorhome and then take it to places we want to see.
The Three Musketeers: Midnight - Manuka - Jet.
Midnight
Unfortunately just over 3 years ago we lost Midnight which was really hard for Matt and she was his assistance dog and did everything with him. she was just 6months old when she come to us and right from the start she would help and support Matt with daily living. Helping to fetch and carry things for him. Pulling him out of danger and just been there for him no matter what. This was something she really loved and enjoyed doing for Matt.
Jet
Jet is very special. From being 1 year old she lost her eye and the one she did have has never worked properly and has left her with a challenging life. Yet against all odds she has lived an amazing life and done many things that people said she never would. However she is very much an old lady and loves to stay at home now and all she want to do is sleep. She is struggling health at the moment and so does not get out much. She has a growth on the side of her head and this is becoming a problem for her.
Manuka
Then we have Manuka, Mannie or Boo and these are the names we can put in print. She is so beautiful and she knows it. She is a real handful and lives life to the max. She has no fear when it come to water and loves nothing more than getting wet. She is very much Haley's Baby and plays on this all the time. She is always up to something and yet when you look at her butter would not melt in her mouth.
